happyfunpaul & I will be getting married.
Here are some preemptive answers…
1. Isn’t this a bit fast?
For those of you following along at home, yes. No one could accuse us of dawdling on most things.
As I pointed out to my dear former spouse (when asked this question by him), I decided I would be marrying him 6 months after we had started dating. I just got lucky that Paul and I figured it out at about the same rate.
2. How?
Thursday morning we proposed to each other (yes this means we planned on when and where to propose so that it would be a mutual request and response). We then called my family and then went to have a nice lunch together.
Since it was planned there really wasn’t a question about the answer. Knowing the answer meant we could each enjoy the ritual of asking without the responsibility for the question belonging to either one of us individually.
3. When?
Still working on this. The getting married itself will probably only be a handful of people for each of us, so save the date cards are not likely to be going out,
There are practical pieces that could slow things down, or perhaps speed them up. We will let people at large know the exact when, but celebration(s) are likely to be less formal.
4. Where?
Any initial ritual will likely be held in Boston.
We do plan to have gatherings in Boston and in the PNW, but they will also likely be informal and we will let people know well ahead of time. (I may ask for some logistics help from friends out there).
5. Wait… Paul? Married? I think I missed a memo…..
That actually wouldn’t be hard to do. The last 7 months have been a blur for me and I am living them. If you want the full story and missed the memo (which I have looked around a couple of times over the last few months to make sure I didn’t miss one) just let me know and I will try to fill you in.
6. Have you checked in with your guides?
Yeah, I checked with the bag of rocks. They were very supportive of Paul and I getting married.
I also did some journey work around it, and some systemic constellations processes as well.
I think everyone on that plane had a good chuckle at me calling space for it, since I don’t know any of the mountain names around here yet.
7. That’s all well and good… but what does Explorer think of all this?
Well Paul is a better master of the little red dot than I am. This seems to make him a more than adequate secondary human.
